Like all of the Georgia Horton's wallpaper creations the Mikada Wallpaper was inspired by nature, in this particular case a bird's nest of twigs provided the genesis for this stunning design. Originally the nests, as a whole, were seen as the focus but on closer study Georgia recognised the delicate, yet robust, architectural structure and the twigs then became the emphasis. Georgia says that some people see the design as a firework, which she doesn't mind at all. Her approach is illustrative and unique. Worlds apart from mass produced products, her specialist wallpapers are printed in short runs. Adopting this very traditional and highly skilled method of producing wallpaper pays dividends in the incredible qualities and detail of her designs. Even the more ‘neutral’ colourways have extraordinary clarity and depth. This modern, hand-printed, specialist wallpaper is made in England. Employing only the best quality ink and paper and is available in 4 colourways.
